since leaving the wt, i have spoted so many false teachers from osteen to creflo dollar, but there is some great men of god who speak truth,who arnt afraid to proclaim the gospel, and who dont cater to tickling mens ears my three favorite are paul washer, steve lawson and john piper.

I'm gonna start using his technique and no matter what proof and evidence someone else uses, I'm going to keep repeating, "You haven't been able to argue sufficiently! None of you have provided any evidence! I win!"

JW's on Christmas Day

my wife, my m-i-l and i were driving over to my wife's aunt's home on christmas day to celebrate christmas - which involved letting the aunt's great-great-grandkids open their presents, and eating an early supper (or late lunch).. we were on the way at around 10:30am to 11:00am to the house.

about a couple of miles away, whilst driving through the neighborhood, i spotted a couple of middle-aged young women wearing skirts down to their ankles, and carrying large handbags (aka 'bookbags').

they were between houses, and walking slowly... pioneer stroll?....

hey everyone!

i'm so happy that i finnally joined i just turned 17 and i have so many questions about the org.. i've been lurking around the site for months, and love reading experiences about bethel, and all the hypocricy that the wtbts spews out.. so i finally joined in and hope to make some great friends.. a little about me:.

im male, 17, and i am a born-in, so this is all i know... i was baptised at age 13 i beleive.... my gramma, and grampa and mom , and sisters and brothers, are all jw's.

TI, I don't think any of us will forget the mind numbing meetings. Occasionally there is a talk that will break the mold and have something interesting to say. But mostly it's the same tired material done over and over again.

Something you will learn is that this is how cults work. They repeat and repeat and repeat the same things so it becomes WHO you are. They control the information that you are allowed to be exposed to. They tell you what you can and can't feel. They tell you how you must behave. The group ends up becoming "God". If you disagree with the group, you disagree with God.

There are a few things that helped me early on. Here was a video that I watched that is NOT about the WT. It's a made for TV movie (maybe an old after school special). Watch it and see if you can see how close it is to how JWs end up acting.

The movie opperates on the idea: Why did good german people fall for the evils of the Nazis? All Germans living during WWII were not evil people. And neither were all Nazis. How could "good" people sit idle as the Nazis took over. This is not to say that JWs are Nazis, but it shows how mind control works.

Don't be confused and think this movie is just about the Nazis and WWII. This is about how cults work. How mind control works. And what it eventually does to people. This is a video about what a fictional cult does in reality to these students...and their teacher.

hey everyone!

Welcome, TI! We're a varied bunch here. Some have been "out" for a short time. Others are still "in". Some have rejected the idea of God while others have reshaped their view of Him. Some are Christians, some are Atheists, some are Theists, some Agnostic, some still very much IN JWs. We're a big dysfunctional family here. Try not to be discouraged by any of us or our opinions. Sometimes things get heated, but you can take what applies to you and leave the other behind.

Nearly everyone here has something to offer. Even the JWs that still believe that the WT is God's organization have things to offer. Even if that "thing" is an example of how we used to think and believe. There are teenagers, young adults, single guys and girls, married guys and girls, older ones that had been JWs since VERY early, etc. Pretty much every group of type of person is represented here. I'm probably telling you what you already know if you've lurked here a while.

Overall, this is a great place to research the organization, belief in God, belief in the Bible, science, history, etc. Some leave because of the negativity here. But I don't understand that. Just don't let people get to you too much. Like I said, take what you can and leave the negativity on the screen.

We're all here for you in our own ways. I personally know exactly what it is like to grow up in the organization, as do many others here. I think MOST here are born ins. But there are some converts to the WT here too that have a lot of value to offer.

Later it says: " Jehovah's Witnesses pray more because their faith teaches them to do everything with prayer, said J.R. Brown, director of public information for the Watchtower Society, an organization for Jehovah's Witnesses.

"It isn't just something we resort to when there is some problem in life, but is part of our life," he said.

Anyone think the GB had their hands in this "survey"? This certainly wasn't true of my life as a JW. And it was not really accurate of others I knew either. Prayer was ridgid and reserved for meal times, and possibily before you went to bed. It's probably a case of every JW that the survey examined wishing to give a good witness rather than be 100% honest.

Report 2012. How many "real" Biblestudies are they in Jehovah's Witnesses??

biblestudies in the report, is the numbers they show us correct?.

i've been thinking of this, and as i am from sweden i use my own country as an example.. to notice is that sweden is high penetrated of internet.

the young ones here is often really good in english.. and i suppose that hardly one third of the jw kids finaly get baptised.. at most positive.. .

I can only speak from experience, and maybe I just wasn't good enough door to door. But I never had any bible studies while I regular pioneered or while I was at bethel. I'd do the whole offer the bible study at the door thing. Nothing. I had several RV's. Nothing. I could never get anyone to commit to a sit down study. And most of my reg pioneer friends didn't have any studies either.

Personally, I'd never heard of anything with the farm animals. But of course I was not at the farm.

Maybe I'm just overly sensitive to sensationalism. I just don't want to lose credibility by claiming something that isn't true. But, of course, everyone experience is different.

One thing is certain, Bethel isn't the place people think it is while they are JWs.
